Ahhhhhhh I'VE WANTED TO USE KNOX SOMEHOW, SOMEWHERE, FOR YEARS.
FINALLY I can use him somewhere and actually flesh him out!
My application for the group
! LET'S GO.
May 26Animal: Tree BumblebeeCharacteristics: [ Lazy ]
[ Quirky ]Personality: [ Social ] [ Loyal ] [ Organized ] [ Easy-going ] [ Rash ] [ Insensitive ] [ Unreliable ] [ Irresponsible ] Upon first meeting Knox, one will notice that he is extremely outgoing and social, as well as rather "touchy-feely". He likes tapping others on the back, rubbing hair and heads; all in a friendly manner, of course. He is a social guy who appreciates the company of others and who especially loves going on adventures with them. The more the merrier! He is rather easy to get along with, since he is often all about fun and games, and not so much about gloom and drama. Knox is also very loyal, sticking with those he trusts. He is also somewhat knowledgeable about the world, having traveled here and there in the last few years. He is rather fearless, and his ability to keep a cool head even under dangerous situations can often be enough to get him out of a pinch. Knox also loves history, and he is extremely organized: a skill he acquired during his travels, when he had to pack his belongings and coordinate a schedule.
Because of his childish and fun and games personality, Knox sometimes acts like an overgrow, spoiled child. He is rather lazy and hates the idea of "working", especially for the sake of earning bells, or a living. He will literally do everything in his power to get a job that will allow him to sit down or lounge all day while earning him a paycheque at the end of the week. Because of this mentality, Knox can sometimes be very unreliable, since he might decline requests for help if he considers the request to be more trouble than it's worth.
Knox loves bells, as much as he hates having to work for them. The only time he will force himself to work is when he is in a desperate need of bells, whether to pay a debt or just because he wants to buy something. This rash mentality often makes him act in horrible ways, such as selling gifts from friends or free items because the bells have a bigger value to him; but whenever he does sell the items he received from others, it's not done in a mean-spirited way: he just likes bells more, since he feels like he can find a use for them, unlike the majority of items he gets. It is extremely difficult for him to get attached to material possessions, but if someone close to him gives him something, he will try his best to give it some kind of sentimental value.
Knox can be blunt, but most of the time, he is rather passive and happy-go-lucky. Although he tries to avoid confrontation, there are times when he puts his foot in his mouth, and he ends up walking right into a fight. He is often oblivious and doesn't always realize that he's doing something wrong, especially when bells are involved. Overall, though, he tries his best to be decent, at the very least.
Because of his love for bells, Knox is not against begging or subtly hinting that he'd like some from you. He won't bring up the topic out of the blue, but if bells are mentioned, he might drop a joke or two in there as a hint that his wallet is always open if you want to spare some change...History: Knox grew up in a relatively normal family. Both of his parents had reasonable jobs, and they kept their family well-fed and comfortable. Knox grew up with his parents basically giving him whatever he wanted, being that he is an only child. His parents didn't have a lot of trouble with him; at least, not until he hit elementary school. Kindergarten had gone well enough, but as soon as school turned into books, homework, and study time, Knox's parents soon realized they would have a hard time with him from that point on. Knox refused to do his schoolwork, and it took a lot of authority and pushing for his parents to force him into doing his homework. As Knox realized he still had about ten years or more of this, he tried to grit his teeth and bear through it all. Graduating from school was the greatest day of his life, so far.
After graduating school, Knox's parents told him it was time to decide what he wanted to do. Saying he was undecided and really tired of school, he told his parents he needed a break before he got around to finding a real and decent job. His parents agreed reluctantly, and Knox used that time off to travel: if school had taught him one thing, it was that the world was a big place, and that it had a lot of things to offer.
Of course, being a boy fresh out of school without a job or bells, he traveled under his parents' bank account. His parents were fine letting him travel at their expense for a while, but they soon realized they'd made a horrible decision. Becoming obsessed with traveling and seeing new places, Knox basically spent his time abroad all the time, returning home only for a few weeks before leaving again. Realizing all their money would be gone within a matter of months if Knox continued to travel so carelessly, his parents refused to continue paying for his travels. Knox was furious and heartbroken when he learned the news, and his parents told him that the only way for him to keep traveling was to find a job and earn his own bells.
So began Knox's mission to find a job that consisted of very little work, but of a very high pay. Not surprisingly, only the hard and exhausting jobs paid well. While Knox managed to get a few odd jobs here and there, none of them could pay him enough to travel anywhere comfortably. Knox lost his will and motivation to do much at a certain point, his inner child refusing to grow up in order to start "working hard".
When Knox turned 20, his parents gave him a wonderful birthday gift: they agreed to pay him a trip to wherever he wanted. The only catch was that it was with the intention of him seeing a new place and hopefully learning to work while abroad: perhaps a new environment where his parents weren't around to support him would finally teach him the value of hard work. That last part went right over Knox's head as he simply focused on finding a good place to travel to, considering he would be staying there for a long time, if his parents weren't paying the trip back. After looking through a few brochures, he finally settled on the little town of Hemlock.Catchphrase: "Heh!"Quote: "Life is all about traveling... and bells."Map Section: D4
... Small and quiet, close to the beach and the ocean... Mmm, yup.Others:
- Knox always wears his traveling/pilot attire. It keeps the spirit of traveling alive even when he's not traveling.
- Knox gets a little touchy when it comes to stingers, since only female bees have them. It's kind of depressing.
- Knox has nothing against catching other bugs, despite being one himself. While he hates being stung by bees like everyone else, though, he can sometimes be found talking to nests if he finds one. Sometimes he just feels lonely when no one's around.
- Knox's entire body is very furry, making him soft to the touch. Summer is often the worst season for him because of his fur and his especially fluffy neck.
- While Knox can fly with his wings, he prefers to run, walk, and just hover. They are extremely fragile, and so he hates other people touching them without care or without asking for permission. The same applies for his antennae.!!EXTRAS!!
- Knox is a character I've had for a few years, at least since 2011. He never got a purpose besides being... him.
- Knox as he is now is a redesign of this
! He actually looks like a species of bee, and doesn't have a stinger, although he retains his overall design (i.e. goggles, aviator outfit, etc).
- I work on Eastern Standard Time
! I work every weekday from 9-5. I do love RPing, but sometimes I may be slow because work leaves me very tired at times. The best way to RP with me is via notes
, since I can reply whenever! I am also okay with comments
too, and I can RP either script
If you want my Skype, though, feel free to ask.
